Terms of Service & Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 26, 2023

Welcome to David Wayne Cooper. This document outlines the 'rules of the road' for our services—from the custom keyboard order process and timelines to how we protect your personal information. We believe in being transparent and fair, ensuring a clear understanding of our partnership as we craft your bespoke mechanical keyboard. Your trust is paramount, and these policies are designed to uphold that commitment.

Terms of Service

1. Custom Orders

For all custom mechanical keyboard builds, a detailed quote will be provided based on your specifications. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to commence work and secure components. The remaining 50% balance, along with shipping costs, is due upon completion and your final approval of the finished product. We will provide progress updates and photos throughout the build process for your review.

2. Timelines & Delays

Estimated build times are communicated with your quote and depend heavily on component availability (e.g., specific GMK keysets, rare switches, custom PCBs). While we strive to meet all deadlines, delays due to supply chain issues, component sourcing, or unforeseen circumstances may occur. We will keep you informed promptly of any significant changes to your project's timeline.

3. Shipping

All completed custom keyboards are shipped via reputable carriers with tracking and insurance. Shipping costs are calculated based on destination and package value and will be added to your final invoice. David Wayne Cooper is not responsible for lost or damaged packages once they are handed over to the carrier, though we will assist in filing claims for insured shipments. International shipping incurs additional customs duties and taxes, which are the sole responsibility of the buyer.

4. Returns & Warranty

Due to the highly customized nature of our products, all sales are generally final. Returns are not accepted unless there is a verifiable defect in workmanship or components, specifically related to the assembly or modding services performed by David Wayne Cooper. We proudly offer a 90-day warranty on the assembly and modding labor from the date of delivery, covering functionality issues arising from our craftsmanship. This warranty does not cover damage from misuse, accidental drops, liquid spills, unauthorized modifications, or normal wear and tear. Defective artisan keycaps are subject to the original artisan's warranty policy.
